Air Cargo Impacted By Iran/Israel Conflict

Following Iran’s attack on Israel at the weekend, air freight services to and from the region, and the whole of Asia, are being impacted.

Some flights and services were cancelled in and out of the Middle East, meanwhile many Far East services have had to be rerouted to avoid what has become a no-fly zone, leading to payload issues, increased fuel costs and space issues. We understand that some airlines are not accepting new cargo bookings on certain routes until further notice.

With capacity already under pressure, we are witnessing freight rates on many services starting to spiral upwards and this could continue for the coming days, or perhaps until the Iran/Israel situation improves.

The situation has not been helped by Dubai Airport floods, a major gateway for Asia/Europe traffic. A storm in the United Arab Emirates brought the equivalent of 18 months of rain yesterday, which has led to the temporary suspension of incoming flights.

Our team are keeping a close eye on developments. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
